Middle Age building - Stjepan town, built in the late antique fortress over Blagaj is one of the most important towns in Herzegovina. This herceg’s town was actually a town’s palace, enclosed in the hard walls with jaggy peaks still visible. Stjepan Vukšić Kosača kept court in it, that’s why the town was named after him.

This town was the center of political and military turmoils of herceg’s land until 1473, when it was conquered by the Turkish army and became the seat and residence of the cadi (oriental civil judge).
